Melanie brings sensitivity, compassion and a gentle yet solid presence to her facilitation. She first experienced Shadow Work in 2009 and was so impressed with the level of safety, depth and holding at its core, that she began her training soon afterwards. She is now a certified Group Facilitator and One-to-One coach, and her facilitation is supported by 18 years of experience as a shiatsu practitioner, including working for a mother and baby home for women with a history of street sex work and a charity for bereaved parents.
Melanie has a deep trust in the transformative power of emotions, and a firm belief that each person knows what is right for them and holds all the tools they need for their healing.
Her work with clients is supported by training in Transformational Dialogue and Body-Focused Enquiry with Keith Phillips, and NLP practitioner training.
Prior to developing her healing work, Melanie spent a decade as a freelance artist working in education, where she worked with a wide range of organisations to create and deliver workshops for adults, young people and children. She is committed to her own healing journey and has been involved in the Women in Power organisation since going through the initiation in 2011. Other passions include 5Rhthyms dance, music and being in nature.
Melanie lives and works on Dartmoor, in Devon and offers sessions in person and via Zoom. She runs regular Shadow Work weekends with her partner Tim Hall.
“Melanie’s approach of ‘we’re exploring this together’ feels like she is my companion on a mysterious journey. Through her acknowledgement and acceptance I’ve been able to open doors within me that I’ve been in fear of for years. Now I know more of myself than before and am more able to accept and even love the woman that I am.”
